騎士第1節就投進10顆、上半場進18個三分球，取得36分領先局面，比賽只打24分鐘就提前底定勝負；易籃後，騎士「火上加油」再添4記三分冷箭。

決勝節，騎士替補球員毫不手軟又貢獻3顆三分球，全場三分線外出手45次命中25球，命中率高達55.6%，比全場的投籃命中率47.1%還要高。

詹姆斯27分，只上場28分鐘，15投9中，包含4顆三分球在內攻下27分、4籃板、5助攻、3抄截，第3節進行至9分25秒時，詹姆斯投進第4顆三分球，騎士取得84比43全場最大41分領先優勢之後退場休息。

J.R史密斯飆進7個三分球，攻下23分，厄文19分也有4顆三分球，就連手感不佳的洛夫也有11分和2記三分彈，光是先發球員就有18顆三分球，轟得老鷹昏頭轉向。

隨著騎士轟垮老鷹，詹姆斯也將個人紀錄推向新高，季後賽總得分5163分，超越馬刺鄧肯的5146分，現役球員第一人、NBA史上排名第五，在他前面的剩下喬丹、賈霸、布萊恩與歐尼爾。

騎士此役刷新3項NBA季後賽紀錄，分別是單節10顆三分球、半場18個三分球、全場25個三分球。

其中25個三分球不但破勇士在首輪季後賽與火箭第4戰的21球紀錄，還改寫了2009年魔術與2013年火箭所保持的例行賽單場23球紀錄。

詹姆斯表示，全聯盟有不少強隊，也有很多偉大射手，但此役卻是如此戲劇化，這是一個非常特別的夜晚。

騎士總教練泰倫盧稱讚投進7顆三分球的史密斯，他投進的每顆三分球都具有感染力，同時帶動其他隊友找到投籃準星。
